Mordhau Survival RPG - 2023

I co-developed with one other developer a massive overhaul mod to the popular slasher game "Mordhau". Using the Mordhau Unreal Engine 4 SDK, Transforming it into a persistent, open-world survival RPG. This resulted in a job offer directly from Mordhau, Triternions' CEO. We have since moved on and handed this to two other community developers to maintain.

My contributions

  • Developed the 4x8km highly detailed open world environment. Using custom scripted tools & automations for faster development.

  • Engineered core systems such as Guilds, Inventory & Crafting systems.

  • Configured Back End - Cross Server "Hive" style integration / persistence.

  • Led production & marketing initiatives.

Arma 3 Spearhead 1944 CDLC -2023

Arma 3 - Spearhead 1944 is the latest CDLC released by Bohemia Interactive, placing you in the boots of the soldiers fighting to break out from a tenuous foothold in the hellish maze of the bocage to liberate occupied Normandy.

My contributions

  • Designed and set up the production pipeline for their 150km^2 open world terrain.

  • Documented and trained a team of 10 developers and artists on using this pipeline and the associated processes.

  • Oversaw the team and tracked KPI's to ensure development was on track and OKR's were met on time.

Arma 3 S.O.G. Prairie Fire CDLC -2021

Arma 3 - S.O.G. Prairie Fire is a best-selling Vietnam-era CDLC for the game Arma 3. Having amassed almost 2,000 reviews with a 82% positive rating on Steam.

Developed with the help of US Veterans and Vietnamese advisors. S.O.G. Prairie Fire closely follows the lesser-told stories of the covert special ops unit MACV-SOG.

 

My contributions

  • Created 50 modular 3D assets for the US faction's fortification & and bunker system.

  • Created several miscellaneous 3D Assets / Props.

  • Overhauled the open-world terrain development pipeline using custom tools created with Java. Reducing build error rate by 80%. And increasing build frequency by 300%.

  • Led our open world terrain production leading up to release.

OpenGL PBR Engine - 2021

For my final University project I created a real time PBR engine using C++, OpenGL and a few essential libraries. The full project source and documentation can be found on my github (click the picture).

 

My contributions

  • Created a fully real-time physically based rendering engine.

  • Using OpenGL and C++ I developed both the CPU and GPU side of the engine.

  • Implemented basic "editor" style functionality for changing & manipulating assets and the lighting in real-time.

  • Basic scene navigation functionality and customisable controls.

Chernarus 2035 - 2018

Chernarus 2035 is a popular free terrain modification for the Chernarus map of Arma 3. Having amassed over 130,000 subscribers on the steam workshop it contains extensive modifications to the existing terrain, lighting and assets. With several custom 3D assets populating the landscape.

 

My contributions

  • Created a series of custom 3D Assets for populating the world.

  • Led the technical design of the terrain lighting & assets in an out dated non-PBR shader. Ensuring that materials looked as intended under all lighting conditions.

  • Created the foundations for populating the map, altering the surface masks and satellite imagery for the terrain.
